1. Password protection

Even if you have confidence in your memory, you 'd better save a boot disk with a password. In this case, you can find a convenient solution if you forget the password. The procedure is as follows: first, find a formatted blank floppy disk, type "Control Panel/User Account" in the address bar of any resource manager window or IE window, and press Enter, in the "User Account" window, select your account and click "block a forgotten password" in the related task list ", follow the prompts in the "forgot password wizard" to complete the operation.

2. bypass the forgot password

If you have not prepared a boot disk with a password, and then use another account to manage the original level to log on, go to the "User Account" setting page in article 16th and select the account with the password forgotten, click "Change Password" and reset the new password as prompted. If you cannot log on with another administrator-level user name, restart your computer and press F8 when the Windows Startup icon appears to go to the Windows startup options interface. In the next step, reset the account password as described in Article 17th, finally, restart the computer.

3. Become a Power User

In Windows 2000, the Chinese version calls it a user with high permissions. When you log on to the system as an administrator, your system is vulnerable to Trojan Horse and other malicious programs. When you use a "Power User" to log on to the system, you can avoid many risks. In addition, you usually need to use the same functions as managing original-level users. Of course, if necessary, it is also convenient for users to switch back to the Administrator level.

To set a Power User, follow these steps: Select Start/run and type lusrmgr. run the msc command line and press enter to enter the "local users and groups" window, click "group" on the left, and then double-click "Administrators" on the right ". Here, you need to check that there is another account in the "members" list, that is, you can also use this account to log on to the system when you need to fully manage the original level of permissions. Select the account you want to downgrade and click "delete" * "OK ". Next, click "Power Users" * "add" on the left side, type the account name you specified, and click "OK" twice.

4. When a temporary administrator

The Power user can run administrator-level programs, such as the Lusrmgr. msc program mentioned in the previous article 3rd, without the need to log off and log on again with an administrator-level account. In the resource manager, press the "Shift" key on the keyboard and right-click the program or shortcut you want to run, select "running mode" from the pop-up menu, and then select "The following user identity to run the program" (under Windows 2000) or "The following users" (under Windows XP ), enter the Administrator-level user identity name and password (enter the domain name if necessary) and click "OK.

5. Use the Windows Network Installation Wizard

If you are connecting to the computer network for the first time, Windows XP's "Network Installation Wizard" is a good choice. It can help you set various details step by step. If you want to manually run the wizard, select "start" * "run", enter "netsetup" in the command line, and press Enter.

6. install wireless networks

When you insert a wireless network adapter into your computer, XP automatically displays a "connect to wireless network" dialog box. Right-click the Wireless Network icon in the system bar, select "view available wireless networks" in the pop-up menu, and select your specified wireless connection, click "Connect. If you do not see this icon, type "Control Panel/network connection" in "Resource Manager" or the address bar of the folder window, and right-click the wireless network connection icon.

7. connect to a non-secure wireless network

If the "Connect" button in the "connect to wireless network" dialog box mentioned in article 3 is unavailable (Gray ), this network may be missing "Privacy Protection relative to wired connections" or the latest version of "Wi-Fi secure connections ". If you want to solve this problem, you can enable the "Allow me to connect to the selected wireless network, even non-secure" project. However, you may have problems with privacy protection at this time.

8. Complete wireless network connection by yourself

By default, Windows XP automatically sets your wireless network connection parameters, which is XP's so-called "wireless network zero setting function ". However, if your wireless device is randomly attached with your own driver, you 'd better disable this feature for Windows. Double-click the "wireless network connection" icon in the "Network Connection" window (as shown in 6th Tips), or click the zoom-out icon in the system bar. Select "properties", click "wireless network" in the "Wireless Network Connection Properties" dialog box, close "use Windows to configure my wireless network", and click "OK ".

9. Quick account Switch

If your computer memory is large enough, you can quickly switch from one account to another without canceling the first account first. The procedure is as follows. Click "start" * "logout" * "switch user ". This feature is useful when you need to use another account immediately and saves time. However, you may not like this function, because using this function may cause system operation lag, especially when you are running games, system tools, or other programs that consume a large amount of system resources, the impact is more obvious.

10. Disable quick User Switching.

The "quick User Switching" feature mentioned above has another disadvantage. When you use this feature, you cannot use Windows's "Offline Files" feature, this feature automatically downloads web pages for you to browse offline. If you want to disable the "quick User Switch" function, type "Control Panel/User Account" in the address bar of any "Resource Manager" or IE browser and press Enter, click "Change User Login or logout Method" in the "User Account" window, close the "use Quick User Switching" project, and click "application options.

11. close the account instead of deleting the account.

If an employee wants to leave the company for a long time, you need to change the account settings for security prevention, but it is best not to delete the account directly. This is because in the future, the permissions of the employee's account are not configured in the past, and the employee cannot use the new account to access his/her encrypted files. If you think an account may be enabled in the future, it is best to close the account rather than Delete the account as follows (this function is unavailable in Ho m e version of Windows XP): Press Windows-R and type "lusrmgr. then press Enter. Click the "user" folder, double-click the account you want to close, open the "close this account" project, and click "OK ". If you want to re-open the account, you only need to close the project again here.

12. Retain files for deleted accounts

If you are sure that an employee's account will no longer be used, you can delete the account and save its user files. The procedure is as follows: log on to the system as an administrator, type "Control Panel/User Account" in the address bar of "Resource Manager" or IE browser, and press Enter. Next, select the account name you want to delete, click "delete account", click "Retain file", and then click "delete account. After these operations, even though the employee's account has been completely deleted, however, his desktop settings and all files in "My Documents" are stored in a new folder on the desktop of an administrator account. Note that the employee's email and other settings disappear permanently after the account is deleted.
