1. Temporary Modification

In VI, set tabstop = 4 or set Ts = 4

2. Permanent modification

Vi -- version: view the file to be modified

If it is vim, modify ~ /. Vimrc

If it is vi, modify ~ /. Exrc

Add: Set tabstop = 4

Set nu // display the row number

Set Nonu // do not display the row number

3. VI/root/. bashrc

Add: alias Vi = Vim

4. Set expandtab // convert the tab to a space

Set shiftwidth = 4 // when auto-indenting, indent by this much. [1]

Set softtabstop = 4 // make Vim treat <tab> key as 4 spaces, but respect hard tabs.

Set ignorecase // ignore case sensitivity
