MySQL Connection

The mysql_connect () function is used to open a connection to the MySQL database.

Grammar:

Mysql_connect (servername, username, password)  returns the resource type or FALSE

When the PHP program finishes executing, the connection to the database is automatically closed. If you want to close the database connection before you finish executing it, you can use the Mysql_close () function:

Mysql_close ($conn);
The parameter is a resource-type variable that  returns a Boolean value
