Many SP1 updates are mentioned in the Vista SP1 White paper that has just been released, and some things are noteworthy, especially in terms of how they are deployed. There is the remaining disk space requirements are very abnormal, given to be able to see the following instructions, 32-bit system unexpectedly requires the system area must not be less than 7GB free space!
This may cause headaches for many users with insufficient disk partitions, including me. Really very deadly, my system partition is only 12GB, the entire disk's remaining space is less than 7GB, how to do? Can't install SP1?!
There are three ways to deploy SP1:
* Express: Need network connection, first approximately need to download 50MB (32-bit) files to the computer, then can download, install the update over the network.
* Stand-alone: Offline installation method, download files more than Express, can be applied to any Vista version and language will be used like system Center Configuration Manager The 2007 release tool deploys the standalone installation to Vista SP1.
* Slipstream: Use media media to install SP1, its access channel is limited, in the future, Microsoft will release the retail version of media, batch authorized users can also get.
Using Express and stand-alone deployment methods, Microsoft recommends:
* Notebook must be plugged in (should be more time-consuming, and ensure that the process is not interrupted)
* Operating system Area remaining space: 32 bits retain at least 12GB 7gb,64 bit space.
* Stand-alone deployment method requires administrative credentials.
Special note: The above said "32-bit at least 7GB" means that the system after installation, at least 7GB of the remaining space, not Vista SP1 in the space as long as the preservation of 7GB.
