We often use the Remote Desktop feature in the LAN to facilitate information exchange with other workstations. Many people will think that this feature is almost useless, but in actual use, we sometimes encounter various special Remote Desktop Connection requirements. To successfully meet these special connection requirements, we must master some remote desktop usage skills. This is not the case. Here are some new remote desktop skills that I have contributed to you. It is worth a try!

Protects Remote Desktop ports from attacks

As you know, the port used by the Remote Desktop is usually "3389" by default. If we do not change the port number in time, many hackers may exploit this port, attackers can remotely control and intrude into local workstations to steal various types of private information stored in local workstations. To protect the security of the local workstation, follow these steps to change the default port number used by remote desktop to another port number:

First, log on to the local workstation system as a privileged user, and click "start" and "run" commands on the system desktop one by one. In the displayed system run box, enter the string command "Regedit ", click OK to open the system registry editing page of the local workstation;

In the left-side area of the editing interface, expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry branch with the mouse, and select the systemcurrentcontrolsetcontrolterminal serverwdsrdpwdtdstcp sub-key from the branch list popped up, in the display area on the right of the TCP sub-key, we will see a sub-key named portnumber (1), which is used to define the Remote Desktop port number, set the value of this subkey to another port number. For example, you can set the value to "9999 ";

After modifying the numeric value, move the cursor to the hkey_local_machinesystemcurrentcontrolsetcontrolterminal serverwinstationsrdp-TCP branch of the registry, which is displayed on the right side of the RDP-TCP subkey, we will also see a subkey named portnumber. We will also modify the value of this subkey. For example, we will also change its value to "9999 ";

After the Remote Desktop Connection port number of the local workstation is complete, we need to open the Remote Desktop Connection settings window in the corresponding workstation when we need to connect to the workstation through the Remote Desktop later, set the workstation address that requires remote connection, click "Save as" to save the remote desktop settings as a file, and then edit it with text such as a wordpad.ProgramOpen the previously saved RDP file and manually enter a line such as "server port: I: 9999" in the text editing area. Then save the file as its original name, in this way, we will be able to Securely connect to the local workstation through remote desktop in the future. Webpage tutorial network reminds other users that they cannot create Remote Desktop Connection with the local workstation if they do not know the new remote desktop port number, so the security of the local workstation will be greatly enhanced!

Use Remote Desktop to transfer files

When transferring files in the LAN, I believe most people will share the files, but the target file set to the shared state can be easily peeked by others, moreover, some people with ulterior motives will launch attacks on local workstations through the shared channel. To ensure secure file transfer in the LAN, we can use the disk ing feature in the remote desktop program to make file transfer in the LAN safer and easier, the procedure for transferring files using the Remote Desktop function is as follows:

First, click "start", "program", and "Remote Desktop Connection" commands on the desktop of the local workstation system to open the Remote Desktop Connection Program Interface, and click "options" in the interface, in the option settings window that appears, click the "local resources" tab to go To the tag settings page shown in 3, and select the "disk drive" project, click Connect to start Remote Desktop Connection;

after successfully connecting to the other workstation system, double-click the "my computer" icon on the system desktop of the other workstation, we can see that the disk partitions of the local workstation, including the optical drive, have been mapped to the other workstation, at this time, we can easily and securely perform file transfer operations like copying and moving files locally. After the file transfer is completed, we must disconnect the Remote Desktop in time to prevent other users from stealing their privacy information.
of course, we can also use software to modify the port 3389 Remote Desktop
