3D desktop-Ubuntu manual Configuration

When I read my post yesterday, I found that many images attached to my post were 3D desktops. I felt very curious. Why don't I try such a famous function? So we started.
The first step is to install the 3D desktop. The premise is that the 3D driver of the video card must be installed. I am an Intel onboard video card, and the driver has been recognized by ubuntu, this saves the trouble. The next step is to install the compiz component. The command line method will not be mentioned. For more information, see [Share] install the most luxurious desktop (for card a users) and add many updates. I did not try the command line. It is very convenient to directly use the new installation.
The configuration is followed. For details, see "Detailed settings of 3D desktop effects under Ubuntu 7.10. Although no configuration is available, it is okay to start a 3D desktop. In this step, you can enjoy the new functions of 3D desktop.

Finally, the case is closed. I personally think that 3D desktop functions are very fancy, and most of the functions may not be used much, but many small functions will be reflected in daily operations, such as window sticking and jitter, these give a new sense, which cannot be imagined in Windows (maybe Vitas has implemented these functions ). The most worried about enabling 3D desktop is the CPU usage. Currently, it is basically maintained at around 5%, but the CPU usage suddenly increases when switching the work area, but it will be restored after switching, in addition, there is not much change in the cpu Of the window jitter with the mouse.
It should be noted that there was a small problem during the configuration process, and I almost gave up using this feature. This is the problem of workspace switching. Three workspaces were opened before activation. After the workspace was installed, click the workspace with the mouse. As a result, the desktop was gone and the menu was gone. Log out before logging on. And the CPU usage reaches 50%, which is unacceptable. This problem may cause a process to crash, so the CPU is downgraded after the restart. Return to the configuration and find that the number of Work zones set on the panel needs to be modified in the 3D desktop configuration.
