It is reported that the pilot application of carrier aggregation (4G +) in Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Zhejiang has achieved a network download rate of up to 220 Mbps, this means doubling the 4G network speed. At the same time, Beijing mobile's 4G + construction and deployment are in progress. It is expected that the carrier aggregation function will be enabled for all the hot areas in the Fifth Ring Road at the end of the year, providing 4G + service capabilities.

 

The so-called carrier aggregation (4G +) is an important part of 4G Evolution Technology (LTE-A. "Carrier aggregation binds multiple carriers (channels) in a 4G network. It is like a single-lane vehicle. Now it is a two-lane or multi-lane vehicle, and its traffic capacity (Rate) naturally, it is greatly improved." According to related technical personnel, the 4G + network achieves a data transmission speed of 220 Mbps compared to the 4G network, and the downstream peak speed can reach Mbps, or even 50 Mbps.

"Users with 4G + technology can enjoy a higher rate than normal users ." Yan shuihua, an engineer at Shenzhen mobile network department, said, "for example, watching a video may take 5 Mbit/s. When many people watch the video, using a terminal that supports 4G + may have a higher probability of obtaining a 5G rate."

Beijing Mobile said that the 4G + construction will be the focus of work in the second half of the year, and about 9000 carriers will be completed by the end of the year. At the same time, VoLTE will cooperate with the unified deployment of the Group to accelerate trial and commercial use. According to relevant sources, when 4G was launched for commercial use at the end of 2013, the downstream speed reached 40-50 Mbps, achieving a qualitative leap from the 2/3G era. In the next two years, 4G users in Beijing experienced rapid growth. Up to now, the 4G network speed has been around 8.5 million, and the speed can still rise steadily. After 4G + and other new technologies are realized, the speed can reach more than Mbps.

Currently, mobile phone terminals supporting 4G + are mostly high-end models. More models will be added in the future. More than 20 mobile phones supporting 4G + networks are expected to be supported by the end of the year.
