After installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, FTP cannot use the root user. comment out the root user in the/etc/vsftpd/ftpusers and/etc/vsftpd/user_list files, add a "#" in front of the root, and then run the FTP command to report an error.

I checked on the Internet and found the SELinux configuration problem. There are two solutions:

1. Run service vsftpd restart after setsebool-P ftp_home_dir on.

Or setsebool-P ftpd_disable_trans on and then run service vsftpd restart.

2. Disable SELinux

Modify the/etc/SELinux/config file or set SELinux = disabled in/etc/syscofnig/SELinux, and restart
