Speaker profile:Anders östman is our SOR of Geomatics at University of Gävle. he was one of the initiators of agile (Association of GI laboratories in Europe) and is currently a board member of eurosdr (European Spatial Data Research) and gisig (GIS International Group ). his research interest is mainly in Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI ). his research group in Gävle is very active in the implementation of the Swedish national SDI and the research studies include engineering issues as well as economical considerations. and between sor östman has also coordinated several large EU projects like begin and GI-INDEED, dealing with SDI.

 

I listened to the above report at the location today. On a temporary notice, I hurried over and forgot to take notes. The Swedes were very busy. Although the Swedish voice was very low, I could understand most of the content in combination with the PPT. I have learned from the technical aspects of SDI, such as data harmonious, schema matching and translation, Web Service including WMS, WFS, and WCS. but when it comes to SDI's Legal and Policy protection, social and economic factors, I cannot keep up. alas ~ I forgot my notes. I don't know if I can find the PPT.

In the future, we will participate in such reports to broaden our horizons and improve our listening skills.
