Using top or uptime, and probe display, there will be a line of "load average". What does this load mean?
Load average indicates the average load. What is the average load of Linux? What do they represent? First, let's see
The load value format is one minute, five minutes, or fifteen minutes. This number is the number of active processes that the system checks every five seconds, and then calculates the load value based on the relevant values.
Single-core CPU. A value not greater than 3 is a normal phenomenon. Of course, in the case of multi-core CPUs, the current load (5 minutes) is used in high loads divided by the number of CPU cores. The value is not greater than 3, it indicates that the pressure is not large, and the value is greater than 3 and less than 5, indicating moderate, greater than 5, indicating that the CPU has entered the high load stage.
Of course, this is just a rough calculation method. The specific situation should be measured according to the actual situation.
Under what circumstances will the system load be increased?
1. Slow disk I/O and long CPU wait time
2. Large concurrent data volume
3. The process has not entered the waiting mode/or is waiting for termination
