About VSS standard operations

There was a place in the previous version where the boss told me to modify it. This version has not been changed for a long time ,.
I think the modification in the project is slow, and I have created a small project myself. After the modification, I will overwrite it again .........
As a result, something went wrong. Someone was also modifying this file. I changed the file a lot and the result was overwritten by me.

Both of them have done a lot of work, and some people have done nothing, but the reason is that I have no specification to use VSS
