Add to favorites, view and organize favorites

 

In Internet Explorer, you can store frequently accessed websites to favorites to track them. Internet Explorer and desktop Internet Explorer share favorites, so you can view, organize, and add favorites in the address bar and traditional favorites list of desktop Internet Explorer.

 

Add to favorites

 

If you want to add your current website to your favorites, you can click (or right-click) from the bottom edge to open the application command, click or click "favorites", "add to favorites", or "add ". You can also press Ctrl + D to save the favorites item.

 

Alternatively, in the desktop browser, click or click the "favorites" button next to the address bar, and then click or click "add to favorites ".

 

View favorites

 

To view favorites, you can click or click "favorites" to open the application command. If you organize favorites by folder, click or click the "favorites" drop-down menu and select the folder to view. Click or click any favorites item to go to the website.

 

On the desktop, click or click "favorites" next to the address bar to view favorites. Click or click any favorites item in the list to go to the website.

 

Use folders to organize favorites

 

Sort favorites by folder to make it easier to track your favorites. For example, combine a news website to the "Daily News" folder and combine a shopping website to "my shop.

 

On the Start screen, click or click Internet Explorer to open Internet Explorer.

 

Sweep up from the bottom edge to open the application command, and then click or click "favorites.

 

Click or, and then click or click Create folder ".

 

Enter the folder name, and click or click create ".

 

Next time you add a favorites item, select this folder (or another folder) from the drop-down menu, and then click or click add ".

 

To create a folder on the desktop

 

Open the desktop, or click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar.

 

Click or click "favorites" next to the address bar.

 

From the drop-down menu, click or click "sort favorites ".

 

Click or click Create folder, and enter the name of the new folder.

 

Drag saved favorites to a new folder.

 

You can also "rename", "reorganize", and "delete" favorites or folders in the "organize favorites" dialog box.

 

Sort favorites in alphabetical order

 

Open the desktop, click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar and the "favorites" button, and press (or right-click) any favorites item or folder, click or click "sort by name ". Export favorites

 

If you use Internet Explorer on multiple computers, you can export your favorites from one computer and import them to another computer.

By default, Internet Explorer creates a file named bookmark.htm in the document folder. If you want to save the exported favorites to a location other than "document" (such as a CD or flash drive), click or click "browse" and select another drive. Click or click save ".

Import favorites

 

Import favorites from one computer to another.

 

Open the desktop, or click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar.

 

Click or click "favorites.

 

From the drop-down menu, click or click import and export ".

 

In the "import/export settings" dialog box, select "import from file" and click or click "next ".

 

Select the "Favorites" (and any other settings) you want to import, and click or click "next ".

 

By default, Internet Explorer imports data from a file named bookmark.htm in the document folder. Click or click "next" to import default files, or instruct Internet Explorer to import favorites from other locations. Click browse and select a file, or enter the location of the file to be imported and the name of the file to be imported. Click or click "next ".

 

Select the folder in which you want to save the imported favorites, and click or click import ".

 

Click or click finish ".
