Adjust the resolution of Linux installed in VMware Virtual Machine (slightly changed)

After Linux is installed on a VM in Windows XP, the Linux interface in VMware is too small because
Linux resolution is too low (usually 800 × 600). You can change the score by installing VMware Tools.
Resolution to 1024x768. The following describes how to install VMware Tools and configure the resolution.
Steps:

1. Start the VM and log on to the Linux system as the root user.

2. Press crtl + ALT to release the mouse and click the VMware Workstation menu: VM-settings,
In the pop-up window, select CD-ROM (IDE 1:0) and select user ISO image on the right
Select Linux. ISO in the VMware installation directory, for example, in XP:
C: \ Program Files \ VMware Workstation \ Linux. ISO

3. Click the VMware Workstation menu: VM-install VMware Tools

Note: In Chinese Linux, ls/Media/CDROM may be run on the terminal.
Some garbled characters appear (the file name displayed on the graphic interface is also garbled). You can log out of the system and try again.

4. Install VMware Tools:

Method 1: Install On the GUI
1. Log On with the root user
2. Access the/Media/CDROM directory through the graphic interface X Window,
Double-click File VMwareTools-6.0.2-69824.i386.rpm for Installation

Method 2: run the RPM command on the terminal
1. Log On with the root user
2. Go to the/Media/CDROM directory.
3. Use the RPM command for Installation

The script is as follows:
$ Su-Root
# Cd/Media/CDROM
# RPV-IVH VMwareTools-6.0.2-69824.i386.rpm

5. Run the configuration file

Enter the: VMware-config-tools.pl carriage return in the terminal for configuration,
Next, we will make some inquiries and follow the prompts in the brackets to answer them.
The following information is displayed during Configuration:

Here we enter 3 (that is, 1024x768 resolution)

6. Press CTRL + ALT + backspace and press restart to restart X Window,
Switch to 1024x768 resolution
