Installing the PPPoE Client

Download rp-pppoe-3.6.tar.gz
Installation:
TAR-ZXVF rp-pppoe-3.6.tar.gz
CD rp-pppoe-3.6.
./go
When it appears
>>> Enter your PPPoE user name:
Enter the user name of the ADSL account
When it appears
>>> Enter the Ethernet interface connected to the ADSL modem
For Solaris, this are likely to be something LIKE/DEV/HME0.
For Linux, it'll be ethn and where ' n ' is a number.
(Default eth0):
Input eth0, this is the name of the ADSL connected network card
When it appears
>>> Enter The demand values (default NO):
Enter No
When it appears
>>> Enter The DNS information here:
Enter the appropriate DNS server IP address (typically 2)
When it appears
>>> Please enter your PPPoE password:
Enter the password for the ADSL account
When it appears
>>> Choose A type of firewall (0-2):
Enter 0 and do not use a firewall
When it appears
>>> Accept These settings and adjust configuration files (y/n)?
If you enter the correct information, enter Y, complete the configuration, or enter n re-enter.
Use:
Dial-up Adsl-start
Disconnect Adsl-stop
View Adsl-status
If Ppp0 cannot be opened, you can find the source of the error by tail/var/log/messages
