ADSL dial-up Internet access and "Flowers" trick (1)

ADSL dialing looks very simple, just entering the dialing account information and then clicking the connection button! In fact, we often need to complete some dial-up Internet access tasks with special requirements. To complete such special dial-up tasks, we must master some special dialing skills before dialing, this ensures that the dial-up operation can establish network connections as required. In view of this, this article specifically summarizes several new "tricks" of ADSL dial-up Internet access, I believe it will bring new impact to everyone!

1. Clever installation, allowing ADSL to dial smoothly in multiple systems

When a computer installed with Windows XP and Windows 98 dual operating systems performs dial-up Internet access, we often enable the adsl modem routing mode in Windows XP, in this way, the network can be accessed automatically without virtual dialing. However, when we switch the computer to Windows 98, we find that the adsl modem cannot automatically establish a connection with the Internet.

In this system, when we try to restore the virtual dialing function of adsl modem, the system prompts a dialing error. To enable the successful dialing of the adsl modem in Windows 98, follow these steps:

First, uninstall the PPPoE dialing program of the adsl modem device from the system and restart the computer system, right-click the "Network Neighbor" icon on the system desktop, and run the "properties" command from the shortcut menu. In the displayed network connection Property setting window, select the virtual dialing device, click the delete button to delete the virtual device. Only the TCP/IP protocol and the driver of the NIC are retained.

Select the "TCP/IP protocol" option and click the "properties" button to open the computer's TCP/IP protocol attribute setting interface, as shown in ), on the settings page, select "automatically obtain IP Address" for the IP address of the Local Computer, select the "automatically obtain DNS server address" project, and click "OK, restart the computer system again.

Next, run the IPCONFIG and WINIPCFG commands on Windows XP and Windows 98 respectively to view the IP address information of the Local Computer. If the IP address is different in different system states, we must unmount the TCP/IP protocol, reinstall the protocol, and detach the computer's Nic device from the system, then reinstall the NIC device in the correct way.

After the protocols and network card devices are re-installed, follow the above method to check whether the IP addresses of the Local Computer are the same in different system states. If they are the same, next we will re-install and set the PPPoE dialing program, so that the adsl modem device can successfully dial in different system states in the future.
