1. speed and flexibility. The GPON access technology provides a wider data rate range than its competing technologies, up to 2.488Gbps downstream data streams and 1.244Gbps upstream data streams. It also uses a brand new transport aggregation layer (TC), using a GEM-based and frame-based protocol for business ing, which is an optimized version of ITU-T G.7041 green. Because GEM is a general mechanism for simple and efficient transmission of different services, it is an important basis for the gpon tc layer. 2. Users have higher bandwidth. The GPON solution provides a single optical wavelength at a rate of up to Gbps on the access network, a multi-wavelength rate of up to 20 Gbps in a single optical fiber cable, and a cost-effective T1/E1 and Ethernet connection. The rate of competing technologies is usually only 622Mbps or lower, so it is difficult to continue when any new application is involved.

3. Speech and data are fully integrated into a single optical fiber. The speech and data are transmitted in its own format, without the extra complexity of the network or CPE, and with a longer transmission distance. The GPON solution covers 20 miles from the local end, almost twice the competition technology, and supports redundant topologies to provide protection in the case of fiber circuit breaking.

4. shorter payback period. In regions where fiber optic cables are already installed, the investment cost of the GPON solution is counted from 9 to 16 months, depending on the number of buildings and users covered by the service; the Network payback period for new branch and branch fiber stations is about 12 to 24 months.
