After iOS 7, is Google designed to surpass apple?

Google icon design is more consistent than Apple iPhone icons

Google's guidelines of this kind are "not surprising at all", Vanhemert explained. "Google's image designers are responsible for a wide range of products that span several different platforms. What's even more surprising is that apple, as a very detail-oriented company, seems to have no consistent guidelines for the design of the iPhone icon; the entire design process seems unorganized, this should be intolerable by Apple.
