In the console, you can add an instance to a security group. A maximum of 5 security groups can be added to an ECS instance.

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Click an instance in the left-hand navigation bar.

Click the area at the top of the page.

Select the instance you want, click on the name of the instance, or the admin on the right, and jump to the instance details page.

Click the security group for this instance .

Click to join a security group . In the pop-up dialog box, select the security group that you want.

Click OK .

After you join a security group, the rules for the security group automatically take effect for the instance and do not need to be updated.

Instance move out of security group

You can move an instance out of a security group, depending on your business needs. Note that one instance needs to join at least one security group.

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Click an instance in the left-hand navigation bar.

Click the area at the top of the page.

Select the instance you want, click on the name of the instance, or the admin on the right, and jump to the instance details page.

Click the security group for this instance . You can see the list of security groups where the instance resides.

Select the security group you want to remove and click the Remove link on the right.

In the Prompt box that pops up, click OK .
