China Mobile/Telecom/Unicom WAP 2.0 gateway invariably,
Only HTTP protocol access is supported, i.e. "Wireless profiled http with WAP Proxy" inside the specification
TCPIP socket protocol Access is not supported, i.e. "Wireless profiled TCP with WAP Proxy" inside the specification
So, on top of the BlackBerry, there's no problem accessing http://www.baidu.com:80 with the WAP2 channel.
However, accessing socket://www.baidu.com:80 with the WAP2 channel returns the error code, as follows:
1) An error of type 401 occurred:unauthorized (chinatelecom)
2) 401 Unauthorized Request (from the China Unicom)
3) Zcache-control no cache. (China Mobile)
Note:
Although the WAP 2.0 channel above the BlackBerry does not have access to the socket, you can use the direct TCP channel of the BlackBerry (provided that the phone's options, advanced options, TCP IP is set up with the correct APN) to access the Internet network through the operator's network direct socket.
