Writing Android apps requires a personal computer system. As for the operating system, several major operating systems are supported.
The supported operating systems are as follows:
* Windows XP or Vista
* Mac OS X 10.4.8 or later version (Intel MAC for x86 architecture)
* Linux (officially tested on Ubuntu 6.10 Dapper Drake)
We need to install some of the program tools that are needed for the Android development environment, which are available for free online: * JDK 5 or JDK 6 you need to install Java Development Tools (JDK 5 or JDK 6). Installing only the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is not enough, you need to install the Java Development Environment (JDK). You can enter "java-version" on the command line to see the version of Java that is currently installed on your system (Java version requires >1.5). 1. Download eclipse
2. Install Eclipse
3. Installing the ADT Expansion Kit
4. Download the Android SDK
5. Set the Android SDK
The detailed installation process is as follows:
1. Download Eclipse

First we need to download the integrated development environment eclipse that will be used when Android is developed.
Currently Android apps only support the use of the "java" program language to write Android apps. Therefore, the Java Development Kit (Java Development Kit, JDK) must be installed before development. JDK for each platform is available to
http://java.sun.com download. The MAC OS X operating system has built-in JDK. Once the JDK is installed, we can go to the Eclipse website to download the convenient integrated development environment for Eclipse.
When you download eclipse, choose "eclipse ide for Java developers" or "eclipse IDE for Java eedevelopers" versions, only these two versions will be preinstalled with Eclipse JDT expansion kit. The "eclipse IDE for Java developers" version is selected in the example. Download the same first unzip to the appropriate directory.

2. Install Eclipse
Eclipse does not need to be installed, just make sure you have Java installed on your system, you can open the Eclipse folder directly, click Eclipse to start the Eclipse integration development environment.
The first time you launch Eclipse, you will be prompted to decide which working directory you want to work with. Typically, you can use Eclipse's preset working directory. When you get to the eclipse IDE, you don't have to wait around. Let's start by installing Android development
Tool Expansion Kit.
3. Installing the ADT Expansion Kit
We will install the Android development tool (ADT) on Eclipse.
Find the optional column at the top of the screen and select the "help->software updates" option, which will bring up a new window.
Select the "available software" title and select the "add site..." (add site) button to the right to bring up an input box.
Enter the URL (URL) in the "Location" field in the input box: "https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml"
Press the "OK" button to leave. Eclipse will take a little time to find the right version. If not, you can try using http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/, and sometimes https is inaccessible.
After selecting all the options in the "https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml" project "developer tools" in the window, press the "install" button on the right.
Press the "next" (next) key. Follow the steps to complete the installation. After installation, you will be prompted to restart Eclipse and press "yes" to restart.
Offline Installation
Readers who have successfully installed can skip this paragraph. Some readers are unable to successfully install the Android development tools directly online because of the network environment relationship.
We can then go to http://developer.android.com/sdk/adt_download.html and manually download the latest development tool version to install offline.
After downloading the latest ADT Expansion kit, open the Eclipse development environment, locate the Select column above the screen, and choose the "help->software updates" option, which brings up a new window. Select "available software", select the "add site..." new site button to the right, and an input box will pop up. Select the "local..." button in the upper right corner and select the latest Android development tool file you just downloaded.

4. Download the Android SDK
We will then download the "android Software Development Kit from the Http://developer.android.com/Android official website (software Development Kit, SDK). The downloaded SDK files need to be decompressed first. The Windows platform requires an additional decompression program, such as the Free 7-zip decompression tool. A folder appears after decompression.

5. Set the Android SDK
