On September 6, June 15, Apple's latest browser for Windows Safari downloaded more than 1 million, and it took only two days. CEO Steve Jobs released the latest version in a keynote speech at Apple's global Developers Conference on Monday.
According to MacCentral, Safari opened the page twice as quickly as Microsoft's IE browser in the iBench HTML performance test. Safari took 2.2 seconds and IE took 4.6 seconds. In the Javascript test of iBench, the browser created by Apple performed equally well. It took less than 1 second to complete the task, while IE took 2.4 seconds.
However, it may have been too hasty to launch Windows Safari for just a few hours, and security researchers have discovered several serious vulnerabilities. Apple has fixed these vulnerabilities in today's latest version.
Analysts believe that Apple's decision to release Safari for Windows is a manifestation of its desire to expand its market share. It is also designed to introduce its technology to Windows platform developers, to encourage them to develop applications for iPhone phones in the future.
