1. installation environment

In front of this article: Installing ArcGIS software in Linux is not complicated, but there is a premise that many Linux indicators must comply with the installation requirements of ArcGIS Server, however, this is not very easy to implement, because the dependency packages in Linux are hard to find and do not know the specific functions of these dependency packages. Therefore, we should pay special attention to this during installation, be sure to check the requirements on the official website. Fortunately, many Linux systems can now provide online installation, such as the Red Hat yum command (you can understand the advantages of this command, however, in my customers, the Linux environment often cannot access the Internet, so the yum command cannot be used. We only need to download these packages, then upload the package through the FTP server or Smb server (pay attention to the version). Even if we have installed all these packages, it may still fail, because the installation of these packages may depend on other packages, the problem persists.

Because there are many Linux releases, we should strictly follow the versions provided on the official website when using them. What we provide on the official website is strictly tested. If you use other versions, even on the installation, in the subsequent operation problems, this can be troublesome, the official website of ArcGIS 10.1 for Server system requirements of the connection is as follows: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/system-requirements/10.1/index.html#//015100000072000000

After installation, files in the temporary directory are deleted. If the temporary directory space is insufficient, files are extracted to the HOME directory. If the HOME directory does not have enough space, an error will be reported during installation)
