Azure Backup (3) Use Azure recovery services to back up Azure virtual machines

This article describes how to use Azure recovery services to back up Azure virtual machines.

We pre-Create 2 Windows VMS (named LeiVM001 and LeiVM002), and 1 Linux VMS (named LeiCentOS65)

These virtual machines are located in China East Data Center

　　

If we need to back up the virtual machines, at the same time appear in China East and China North, these 2 regions.

We need to create at least 1 backup libraries in China East and north.

　　

1. We click New, then create, restore service, Backup vault

Create a name for the new backup vault, and then select the Regional China East Data center.

2. Once created, we click on the backup Vault. Such as:

　　

3. Page jump, we can click on the configuration, set the redundancy mode of backup

　　

4. At this time, no virtual machines have been backed up. We need to find the virtual machine first.

Tap registered, then tap Discover. Such as:

　　

5. The system will prompt us to discover the virtual machine

　　

6. Then we click the Register button.

　　

7. In the pop-up window, select the Azure virtual machine that we need to back up. Such as:

　　

8. We choose the type of azure virtual machine, such as:

　　

Then select "Protect"

　　

9. Before selecting "Register" the virtual machine, we now start to "protect"

　　

10. Set up daily backups. Such as:

　　

11. We can also set the retention period for backup files. Such as:

　　

12. Once we have set up the "protect" policy, we can view the current protection status.

After the protection policy is configured for the first time, the protection status is protected (initial backup).

　　

13. Because in step 10, we set the backup time to 7 O ' Day in Beijing time every morning.

The current backup point of time is not yet available, so we can click "Back up Now". To make a backup of these azure virtual machines.

　　

14. Note that the first backup of the virtual machine is a full backup. Each time a virtual machine is backed up later, it is a differential backup.
