As we all know, Firefox can search directly by entering Chinese characters in the address bar, but sometimes, due to DNS resolution reasons, after entering Chinese characters, press enter to display http: // XN -- 8ss/. The displayed page is blank. What should we do?
Solution:
Enter about: config in the address, "Be sure to be careful", and then search
Network. enableidn
Double-click to change the value to false.
This option means:
Network. enableidn * enable Internationalized Domain Names enable international domain name resolution
International domain names, that is, non-English domain names such as Chinese domain names or Japanese and Korean domain names that are about to be staged. Now IE7 and 8 can enter Chinese domain names to visit the website, so Firefox also needs to support it, so when you enter Chinese characters, it will perform IDN resolution. I personally feel that non-English domain names have no future. On the contrary, they will reduce the search speed and cause the above problems. Therefore, disable this function. At present, there will be no impact.
In addition, Google is used by default for Address Bar search. If you want to use Baidu, Yahoo, and other search engines, you can set keyword. url after about: config.
With Baidu set to: http://www.baidu.com/s? & Ie = UTF-8 & WD =
Set to: http://www.google.cn/search with Google? Q =
Pay attention to the above, why Baidu to use an IE = UTF-8 parameters, because the default Baidu encoding for gb2312, and Firefox parameters are passed in the UTF-8, if the direct use of http://www.baidu.com/s? WD = then the entered Chinese characters will become garbled and the search results are incorrect. Google's default encoding is already a UTF-8, so there is no need to add any encoding settings and other parameters.
