String extraction removes the specified prefix

${varible#*string} from left to right, deletes the shortest substring ending in string, that is, the string after the first string substring is truncated

For example, the host name of the server in the cluster is usually node000,node001,node002 and so on, sometimes we just want to extract this digital ID, which can be as follows:

[Email protected]:~$ hn=$ (hostname) [email protected]:echo ${hn#*Dev}00

The current machine name is dev00

Fixed position

${varible:start:len}: Intercept variable varible from position start starts with a substring of length len. The position of the first character is 0.

This is consistent with substr (index, Len) in the general language (hn= ' dev00 ')

echo ${hn:3:2}
