SQL Server default 4 system databases:

1.master Database

Records all system-level information for an instance of SQL Server, including instance-scoped metadata, endpoints, linked servers, and system configuration settings.

2.TEMPDB Database

Staging database for saving temporary objects or intermediate result sets

3.model Database

Serves as a template for all databases created on the instance of SQL Server. Modifications to the model database (such as database size, collation, recovery mode, and other database options) will be applied to all databases created later.

4.MSDB Database

Used for SQL Server Agent scheduled alerts and jobs.
