How to create a hard link

ln p1 p2: a hard-link P2 was created.

Hard links are not allowed for directory creation and cannot span file systems. A hard link points to the Inode node of the source file, sharing an inode.

How to create a soft connection

ln-s p1 p2 a soft connection can point to any directory or file, or even to a nonexistent file. A soft connection points to a path.

    • /etc/init.d/rc.local
