Be careful, Mac OS has a password similar to a universal password!

The system was nearly reinstalled due to the last system failure. Fortunately, I found a way to share it with everyone.

If you have an apple computer, but you still don't know how to set the firmware password (similar to the BIOS password, which is blank by default), you still need to know.

Press ALT to start the system, enter recoveryhd, enter the terminal, and resetpassword. Then you can change the password of the System user. So enable it when you are free!

* If you forget the System user password, this will save you.

How to enable the Open Firmware Password

On any computer capable of firmware password protection (including Intel-based Macintosh computers), follow these steps:

2. For Mac OS X v10.1 to v10.3.9, download and install the Open Firmware password application, which you can get here.

   For Mac OS X v10.4.x, you must use the updated version that can be copied from the software installation disc (located at/applications/utilities/on the disc ).

   For Mac OS X v10.5.x, start from the leopard install DVD and chooseFirmware password UtilityFromUtilitiesMenu, then skip to Step 5.

4. Open the Open Firmware password application.
6. Click the icon to authenticate. Enter an administrator username and password when prompted.
8. Click Change.
10. Click to select the checkbox for "require password to Change Open Firmware Settings", as shown below.
    
12. Type your password in the password and verify fields.
14. Click OK. A confirmation appears.
16. Click lock icon to prevent further changes.
18. Choose quit from the application menu.
