BiOS settings CD boot (on. Award BIOS)

Many people often have computer viruses or the system is broken and need to be reinstalled, but it seems like a kitten eating eggs on the computer, and do not know where to start! In fact, reinstalling is a very simple task. First, buy a ghost XP disc from the outside. These discs all carry the computer boot program, the first step to apply the CD is how to enable the computer to boot from the CD.

This is back to our question. In fact, apart from starting from the CD, we need to put the CD into the optical drive, and then set it in the program on the computer's motherboard, that is, the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) that we talk about. The basic startup of a computer depends on it! There are two common types of BIOS. Here we will introduce the first type of Award bios. Let's start:

1. Turn on the power, and the display emits the first screen, such:

When this screen is displayed, you can press the Del key to enter the settings. Generally, after the power is turned on, you can press it to enter the following menu:
Note: A. If the BIOS is set with a password, enter the password first!

B. Some computers may Press F1 or f12. check the first screen, as shown in "Press del to enter setup"

2. Press del to go To the BIOS Settings Main menu interface. In addition to some professional English, it is generally very simple, such:

3. for example, first look at the following use, this uses the direction key to move, return to the main interface with ESC, save and exit with F10. the first line is "Standard CMOS Settings "... we will not list them. Select the second one, "Advanced BIOS Settings" (Advanced BIOS features ). then enter to confirm.

4. after entering the advanced settings, let's look at the sixth item. Some may be different. "First boot device" indicates the device from which the device is started at startup. the default value here is "Floppy (soft drive )",:

5. For example, if the red light is on this line, this line is selected. Click Enter to modify the line, and press the up/down key to change the highlights ,:

Move "white spots" to the CDROM line (some BIOS may have the name of the optical drive, such as samang cddvd, you just need to select a similar one), then enter, the first boot device is replaced with CDROM. it will be started from the CD.

6. In this way, you have set your computer to start the CD first!

Note: however, you cannot read the Startup file from the disc because you have set the slave disc. if you do not want to enable the first disk, you can find the boot file from the startup of the second disk, your computer cannot be started!

Suggestion: set the first boot mode to the disc, and the second boot mode to the hard disk. After you have installed the system, change the first one to the hard disk when you do not need to start from the disc! This saves the time required to find the optical drive every time the system starts! (Neither the first nor the second is a hard disk)

7. After you complete the settings, click F10, which is the shortcut key we just mentioned to save and exit. Of course, you can also choose from the menu ,:

8. Click Enter to bring up related warnings and ask if you want to save your modification settings!

Click "Y" on the keyboard. The case does not matter. After the press is complete, the computer automatically restarts according to our settings!

Congratulations! You have learned the settings for starting the CD!

Note: The Award bios enable setting is complete in this tutorial! If this is not the case on your computer, see the next set, Phoenix BIOS settings!
