Have you ever encountered the need to connect a Windows PC directly to Ubuntu through a wireless network? In other words, if you do not have a vro, gateway, or other network devices and each machine has a wireless network card, do you need to transfer files or play games? See:
Ubuntu Network Manager 0.7.0 converts Ubuntu into an adhoc host in a wireless network.
In Ubuntu:
Click the Network Manager icon and select create wireless network.
Set an adhoc network name, such as UbuntuAdhoc.
Select the encryption method (in this example, do not encrypt)
Click Create)
The Network Manager of Ubuntu 8.10 will try to link the newly created UbuntuAdhoc wireless network. Of course, the result will fail. Then the network manager will return to the network with the last correct connection. Use the following method to fix the problem:
Edit the network link:
Right-click the Network Manager icon and click Edit connection.
Click the wireless network tab, click UbuntuAdhoc network, and click Edit.
Edit the ingress tahoc network:
Select the selection box before automatic connection
View the wireless tag and confirm that the mode has been set to Ad-hoc.
