1.char,unsigned Char, signed char is a single byte.
A 2.signed char range of 128-127 0000 0000 means +0 1000 0000 represents-0. The values of +0 and 0 represent the same value. In order not to waste this bit with 1000 0000 means 128
The unsigned char range is 0-256.
