CentOS sets system time and Network Time Synchronization
Linux Time is divided into System Clock (System Time) and Real Time Clock (hardware Time, RTC ).
System time: the time in the current Linux Kernel.
Hardware time: the time when battery power is available on the motherboard.
Command for viewing system time: # date
Command for setting system time: # date-set (month/day/year hour: minute: second)
Example: # date-set "10/11/10"
Command for viewing hardware time: # hwclock
Command for setting hardware time: # hwclock-set-date = (month/day/year hour: minute: second)
As mentioned above, you can manually set the time to a time point, which may be different from the current network time. The following describes how to synchronize time with the time server.
1. Install the ntpdate Tool
# Yum-y install ntp ntpdate
2. Set system time and Network Time Synchronization
# Ntpdate cn.pool.ntp.org
3. Write the system time to the hardware time
# Hwclock -- systohc
