Today, I changed the computer name of my computer, when I opened the vs2012, I was prompted with the following error:
---------------------------
Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
Error
work area dadi--20141015q; Sd-server\administrator does not reside on this computer. If you have recently renamed this computer, you can update the workspace by running TF workspaces/updatecomputername:oldcomputername .
---------------------------
Are you sure
---------------------------
Solution:
1. Open the "developer command Prompt" under vs
2. Enter the command to query the existing TFS workspace-bound computer:tf workspaces
Like what:
where 1 represents the command, 2 represents the address of TFS, and 3 represents the computer name that was originally bound.
3. Enter the command TF workspaces/collection:http://192.168.1.236:8080/tfs/tc/updatecomputername: The name of the previous computer
For example: TF workspaces/collection:http://192.168.1.236:8080/tfs/tc/updatecomputername:dadi--20141015q
Note: Where/collection,/updatecomputername is the keyword, HTTP://192.168.1.236:8080/TFS/TC is the connection path to TFS
4. Enter the command, and then TFS will modify it itself. If the previous computer credentials did not save the information, the command return after the TFS will automatically pop up to enter the login to TFS account and password (that is, the original administrator assigned you to log on to TFS user name and password)
5. After the login is finished. Turn on vs again to use. You will find the original work area. Because the above steps simply change the old computer name that was bound to the original workspace to your new computer name. The original workspace for TFS will not change.
6. Have other questions please leave a message to ask questions oh.

Change the computer name that affects the workspace that is mapped before TFS is used.
