Change the indentation of Linux

Many users recommend the use of Vi/vim to change the indentation, the specific operation is as follows:

VI/ETC/VIM/VIMRC Open the VIMRC file and add some commands to the text so that Vim is indented from the original default of 6 to 4 cells

But my case is different: first VIMRC files are used by root, even if you change the permissions can not use the above method to write content.

So the second method:

sudo apt-get install Geany

file--properties--customize--Select the installed geany.

Geany has the following advantages: First of all, the default indentation of 4, to facilitate programming under the Linux system, and secondly, the language keywords in the document are marked with different colors, and finally, can record the row and column of the cursor, in favor of the analysis program
