In July 2004, msdn's iuis and web-style navigation in Windows Forms, Part 1 combined with the recent development practices of WB Editor, triggered some new thoughts on Windows program interface design.
WB editor is a typical Windows program. In the development process, I always feel that its interface is not correct. It should be oriented to the most common computer users. In fact, its interface is daunting.
For example, in the WB editor parameter settings window, the above is used as the detuctive UI. Later, there was an account wizard, which exactly reflected the process of converting the deductive UI into the inductive UI mentioned above.
In addition to turning complex dialog into wizard, the above WB Editor interface issues provide future development directions, that is, web-style.
Web-style will be widely used in Windows program interface design, which is what I call a revolution in the future. According to the above, the MS is implementing the support for web-style navigation in avron (display part of Longhorn. I expect to see more and more Windows programs for web-style navigation from now on.
One of the goals of WB editor 2.0 is to try web-style navigation.
