Close the Welcome page for ESXi HTTPS to enhance the security of your server.

Reason:

After you have installed the ESXi host, you can open the Web Welcome page of ESXi directly using the HTTPS://IP address. However, the welcome interface actually brings a lot of unsafe factors. Therefore, if necessary, shutting down the ESXi welcome interface can enhance the security of the server from some degree.

Hide ESXi Welcome Page Reason:

1, through this welcome page we can learn some basic information, you can jump to the official vmware to download the vsphere client clients and browse the ESXI host data store above the virtual machine entity files.

2, if someone stress test your Web interface, it must be a drain on resources.

3, if the password is relatively simple, or someone violent crack, the consequences you know.

4, other unsafe factors, the most familiar with the destruction of people.

Note: VMware recommends that you make a text backup of the Esxi/esx host's Web Access configuration before modifying it. This backup may be useful if you want to re-enable these features in the future.
