I have been learning how to use CNKI over the past two days. I have to make a careful summary as I want to explain it to my students.

The range can be divided:

Single database search

CNKI divides many databases based on the types of resources, such as the network publishing database of Chinese academic journals, the Network Publishing Database of Chinese academic journals, and the full-text database of Chinese doctoral thesis. If you are sure which database you are looking for, you can use a single-database query to filter a lot of useless information and find more accurate information.

Cross-database search

As the name suggests, the cross-database search scope is the entire database, so that you can expand the search scope and find more information. Of course, if your search technology is strong enough, you only need to use the database query to use CNKI.

The search methods can be divided:

(1) No precise target -- navigation: Find

You can find the required documents in multiple ways to adapt to the reader's traditional reading habits. Even if you do not have the retrieval knowledge, you can also find the target information.

Navigation is a function that must be set for a website. It helps readers easily access the page they want to view and find the content they need.

In fact, the content on the whole homepage of CNKI can be regarded as navigation. For many categories, readers can choose to enter the interface they want to access and browse or search for the content they need.

In addition, when you enter a database, the navigation bar on the left is a detailed navigation bar, which mainly provides the classification of documents. You can select the dimensions you need to search.

In this way, even if you do not know what you want to search for, you can navigate to guide you step by step to find what you need. Of course, this is the least efficient, but it is also a method.

(2) precise targets -- search: Query

You can quickly and conveniently find all required information. Reduce manual operation time and system wait time: reduce manual selection time.

Check, this is familiar to everyone, but it is not easy to use well.

There are four types of queries in CNKI: simple search, standard search, advanced search, and professional search.

Simple search does not need to be said. The interface is as follows, but a search box is provided, where you can enter keywords for search.

Standard search is a comprehensive search of the publication time, source, national and all levels of scientific research projects, authors, and Content features of documents. Interface
