Common linux commands

1. ls-l

View File Permissions

Ls-

View hidden files


2. cp-r

Copy directory (cp only Copies files)

Cp-

Copying all attributes of a file is required for soft connections.


3. chmod 777-R ./

Modify file permissions

Chmod a + x

Add executable permissions to files


4. find-r./-name "str. c"

Find the file named str. c in the current directory.


5. grep-r "string"

Search for strings in files


6. top

View memory usage


7. ps aux

View all processes


8. kill

Kill-s SIGKILL process number


9. cd

Switch directories such as cd/home

Cd-

Switch to the last directory

Cd ..

Switch to the previous directory


10. mv

Moving a file is equivalent to cutting and can be used to modify the file name.


11. fdisk-l

View Block devices on your computer
