I have been installing windows 8.1 for a while, and I am not very familiar with it when I first use it. I am used to using some common shortcut keys later. Below are some common Windows 8.1 shortcut keys:
Ctrl + Tab: access all applications (valid only on the Start Screen)
Alt + F4: Close the application (or drag the thumbnail of the application window to the bottom of the screen)
Windows + C: displays the shortcut menu (or hover your mouse over the top or bottom right corner of the screen)
Windows + D: Display Desktop
Windows + F: Search for files
Windows + H: sending Screen
Windows + I: open settings
Windows + K: Open the device
Windows + L: Lock the computer
Windows + P: Open projection (select a presentation display mode)
Windows + Q: search all locations or within the opened application (if the currently opened application supports searching)
Windows + R: Open the run dialog box
Windows + S: search for all locations (or enter any character on the Start Screen)
Windows + T: Switch the taskbar icon cyclically to get the focus
Windows + U: easy-to-use Access Center)
Windows + W: Search Settings
Windows + X: Open the quick connect menu
Windows + Z: Command Prompt for opening the application (or right-click after switching to the application window)
Windows + space: Quick Switch of Input Method
Windows + Home: minimize all Windows except the currently active Windows (similar to Windows + D)
Windows + Tab: Quick Application Switch
Windows +,: hover the Desktop
Windows ++/-: Zoom In or out (adjust the display ratio through a magnifier)
Windows + Alt + Enter: Open Windows Media Center
Multiple applications are displayed on the screen at the same time: drag the application from the Application List on the left to the main screen, open or right-click the thumbnail of the application window on the left of the screen, and click Insert left (or right) side.
