Configuration of FTP service in Ubuntu

1. install vsftpdsudo apt-get install vsftpd. at this time, the system will automatically create ftp users and ftp groups, and create the/srv/ftp folder as the HOME directory of the ftp user. (If you want to put the FTP directory in/home/ftp, you can modify the ftp user's HOME directory location in the/etc/passwd file .)
2. configure vsftpd to open the/etc/vsftpd. conf file, change anonymous_enable = NO to anonymous_enable = YES, and allow anonymous access.
3. now you can access FTP. First Test: 1) create a new file a.txt under the/srv/ftpdirectory, and then sudo chown root: ftp a.txt 2) ftp localhost finds logon failure. (solution: add the following sentence to/etc/shells:/bin/false. now you can log on normally.
4. if you need to set the FTP access permission, you can modify/etc/vsftpd. conf file: write_enable = YES # Allow the upload of anon_upload_enable = YES # Allow anonymous upload of anon_mkdir_write_enable = YES # allow anonymous users to create folders (sudo/etc/init. d/vsftpd restart) by js_gary
