On the official website of non-installed mysql 5.5, the windows Installation version is available. mysqld is automatically configured as the startup service. Although it is very convenient, it is not very clear and does not help you learn mysql, download the zip version, configure it according to the document, and record the process here. Decompress the downloaded zip package to a folder and I decompress it to the D: \ Program Files \ MySQL directory. Open the software root directory, here is D: \ Program Files \ MySQL \ mysql-5.5.23-win32, found below many. INI files: my-small.ini, my-medium.ini, etc, these are actually for the example configuration file, according to the host memory size select different configuration files as a template to create their own configuration file, I chose my-huge.ini as my profile template. Copy the my-huge.ini and rename it my. ini. Open my. ini, add two lines under [mysqld]: basedir = D: \ Program Files \ MySQL \ mysql-5.5.23-win32datadir = E:/mydata/data, respectively, mysql root directory and data storage location. Note that the directory separator is either/or \\. The two lines use two different separators. If you only specify a new data storage location for mysql, an error will be reported during startup because the data required for startup cannot be found, therefore, we need to copy the data directory under the installation directory together with all the subdirectories and files under the directory to the specified datadir, where it is copied to E:/mydata /. Add basedir \ bin to the PATH of the windows environment variable PATH for ease of use. Enter mysqld -- console in the command line. If ready for connections is found below, the startup is successful. In Windows 7, you need to open the command line in administrator mode. Run mysql.exe on the client to connect to the database service. After successful creation, create a new database, such as create database deron;. If you open your datadir, in my case, E:/mydata/data, you will find a folder named "deron" added below. So far, mysql 5.5 has been installed and configured and tested.
