Create a directory in Oracle

Generally, directory is created to use a Data Pump to import/export data. In fact, directory has many other functions, which will not be described in this article.

1. New directory syntax

Create [or replace] DirectoryDirectoryAs'Pathname';

For example:

Create or replace directory dump_dir as 'd: \ dump \ dir'

Set the Directory D: \ dump \ dir to the directory represented by dump_dir.

2. query the directories

Select * From dba_directories

3. Authorization

Grant read, write on directory dump_dir to user01

4. Delete

Drop directory dump_dir
