Create a shortcut with Visual C # 2005

Creating shortcuts is a piece of cake for most Windows users, but the job is a lot of trouble for programmers.. NET does not provide a straightforward way to create shortcuts, so how do we create shortcuts for applications in. NET?

1. Shortcut file

A shortcut is essentially an extension of. LNK file. Right-click a shortcut file and select Properties to skip to the Shortcut tab, as shown in Figure 1:

You can see a shortcut that contains the following data:

• The name of the shortcut

• The location of the destination that the shortcut points to

• The working directory of the target that the shortcut points to

• Activate Hotkey for this shortcut

· The window style (normal, maximized, and minimized) that the shortcut points to when the target is run

• Descriptive text for this shortcut

• Where the icon for the shortcut is located
