Dangers of quick Shutdown (careful)

There is a fast shutdown method circulating on the Internet: Call up the task manager, hold down the Ctrl key, and click shutdown, so that the shutdown can be completed in three seconds, and the speed is very fast. In addition, there are some quick Shutdown software, such as SuperFast Shutdown, which can also be used to quickly shut down.

We all know that a series of operations should be performed when the system is shut down, including closing the window, killing processes and services, and saving data. Does quick shutdown save some steps like above, and will it do harm to the system?

First, let's take a look at the steps involved in the normal shutdown of the system:

① The shutdown command notifies Windows subsystem CSRSS. EXE, CSRSS. EXE. After receiving the notification, it will be connected to Winlogon. EXE implements a data exchange, and then Winlogon. EXE notifies CSRSS. EXE starts to shut down the system.

② CSRSS. EXE queries user processes with top-level windows in sequence to exit these user processes.

③ Then start to terminate the system process.

The above three steps are the most time-consuming part of the Windows Shutdown Process. Most of the reasons for slow shutdown are due to these three steps.

④ Winlogon. EXE calls the NtShutdownSystem () function to run the tail scanning operation after the command system and shut down the system.

It seems that the Windows Shutdown Process is quite complicated. Using the Ctrl key to shut down or using some quick shutdown software does not go through the complete four steps. Instead, you often skip the first three steps and directly call the NtShutdownSystem () function to shut down the system.

Many software will write data into the memory during runtime and save the data to the file upon exit. If the system is shut down without going through the previous steps, it will lead to the loss of data because the program cannot exit normally. This may cause some unexpected errors due to the loss of important data, which is harmful to the system.

Therefore, we recommend that you do not use the Ctrl key to shut down or some quick shutdown software. After all, data security is much more important than the time saved.
