Debian sound card Installation notes-Linux Release Technology-Debian information. The following is a detailed description. The sound card can be installed normally when DEBIAN's installation disk is used, but this time an error occurs. This time, I did not directly install the desktop task package, because I think KDE is beautiful and it is very slow to run.

So we only installed the basic system, and then used the DEBIAN source of HKUST, apt-get X system, kdm and XFCE Desktop Manager. After logging on to STARTX, it is much faster than using KDE (but the K-series software is still very slow), but there is a problem when installing the sound card.

When alsaconf is used, my sound card can be found correctly, but the prompt "no such device" appears during configuration. Using dmesg to observe the system cache is not allowed to open information such as interrupt request 0 (this dmesg was only found after careful observation, a line in the middle of the alsaconf process, finally, it says "please use dmesg to View Details", which is in English and probably means so.) then it prompts me to check pci = biosirq. But how to use it?

The focus of the problem is returned to the wrong position. The error is caused by insmod. Man: insmod: it is a simple tool used to put modules into the kernel. Search for it online. Some heroes give the following method: insmod modulename pci = biosirq

Is that true? If you try it out, it will not work either. The system prompts unresolved identifiers. It seems that this is not the case. Is it correct? Re-run man insmod to check the parameter description. when reading the NOTES, I found that the insmod I used can be used only with a kernel of more than 2.5. It seems that I am 2.4. Hurry up with the apt-get 2.6 kernel. Installation and restart. During the startup process, it seems to be different from the previous one (there seems to be no error prompt when ALSA is loaded). root goes in and the currently loaded module will be uninstalled at the beginning of alsaconf, I found that it was much more than before, so I knew it was okay. Sure enough, after the setting is complete, go to the X system and enable alsamixergui without prompting that the device is not found. Turn on the player and the sound is coming out.

Summary of this issue:
1. It is not a hardware problem because it can be installed normally before.

2. Carefully observe the prompts during the installation process, and carefully observe the corners in the Manual (this is really a corner)

3. Good English. Be patient if you are not good.
