Decision-making elements -- Notes for effective managers

Five elements of decision-making:

1. To understand the nature of the problem, if the problem is frequent, it can only be solved through a decision to establish rules or principles.

2. determine the boundaries that must be met when solving the problem. In other words, the boundary conditions of the problem should be found.

3. Think carefully about the correct solution to the problem, and the conditions that these solutions must meet, and then consider the necessary compromises, adjustments, and concessions, so that the decision can be accepted.

4. The decision-making scheme should take into account the implementation measures at the same time, so that the decision-making can be implemented.

5. Pay attention to feedback during execution to verify the correctness and effectiveness of decision-making.

 

1. Find out the nature of the problem, whether it is an unexpected event or a regular event (the first occurrence of a regular event )?

Frequent mistakes: 1) Think of him as a series of accidental Questions; 2) think of the real problem as the recurrence of the old illness, but use the original principle; 3) define fundamental problems as plausible; 4) Only the problematic part is displayed.

Effective Decision makers often assume that the root problem is of a regular nature or the first occurrence of a certain type of frequent nature.

As an effective decision maker, the first step is to find a solution from the highest level of concept. Start with the nature of the problem.

If a manager makes decisions every day, it can only show that he is a lazy and ineffective person.

Effective managers generally make few decisions. Since they have set a set of rules and policies to solve frequent incidents, they can use rules to solve most problems.
