Delete PHP MySQL Data
The DELETE statement is used to record the deletion table.
Delete data from a database
This statement is used to delete records from the database table.
Syntax
DELETE FROM table_name WHERE some_column = some_value
Note: Pay attention to the delete syntax in the WHERE clause. The records or records specified by the WHERE clause should be deleted.
If you ignore the WHERE clause, all records will be deleted!
For more information about SQL, see our SQL tutorial.
To allow PHP to execute the preceding Declaration, we must use the mysql_query () function. This function is a MySQL connection used to send queries or commands.
For example
Take a look at the following "person" table:
FirstName |
LastName |
Age |
Peter |
Griffin in |
35 |
Glenn |
Quagmire |
33 |
In the following example, all records are deleted in "person" Peter = 'grip:
<?php$con = mysql_connect("localhost","peter","abc123");if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); }
mysql_select_db("my_db", $con);mysql_query("DELETE FROM Persons WHERE LastName='Griffin'");
mysql_close($con);?>
After executing the above Code,
FirstName |
LastName |
Age |
Glenn |
Quagmire |
33 |
