Deploying GitLab 8.2.2 in Docker

The company wants to build an online code hosting platform based on GitLab, an open-source project, to facilitate management, testing, staging, and server deployment. If it is set up separately on CentOS7, it is quite simple to follow the tutorials on the official website. As for the configuration, it is indeed complicated, and a single server is a little reluctant.

Operating System

CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1503-01.iso installation under virtual machine VMware Player

After installation: Install the base package yum groupinstall base on the Internet

Install Docker

# Sudo yum install docker // version 1.8.2 installed
#docker pull sameersbn/gitlab:8.2.2 #docker pull sameersbn/redis:latest#docker pull sameersbn/postgresql:9.4-8
Start Redis
docker run --name gitlab-redis -d \ --volume /srv/docker/gitlab/redis:/var/lib/redis \ sameersbn/redis:latest
Start postgresql
docker run --name gitlab-postgresql -d \ --env 'DB_NAME=gitlabhq_production' \ --env 'DB_USER=gitlab' --env 'DB_PASS=password' \ --volume /srv/docker/gitlab/postgresql:/var/lib/postgresql \ sameersbn/postgresql:9.4-8
Start GitLab
docker run --name gitlab -d \ --link gitlab-postgresql:postgresql --link gitlab-redis:redisio \ --publish 10022:22 --publish 10080:80 \ --env 'GITLAB_PORT=10080' --env 'GITLAB_SSH_PORT=10022' \ --env 'GITLAB_SECRETS_DB_KEY_BASE=long-and-random-alpha-numeric-string' \ --volume /srv/docker/gitlab/gitlab:/home/git/data \ sameersbn/gitlab:8.2.2
WEB Access

Access address: http: // address: 10080

Default Account: root/5 iveL! Fe. After logging in, change the password.

The experiment found that using Docker does not occupy hard disk and memory much.
