1. Overview
Cloud computing is a brand new computing model. Its core driving force is that enterprises or individuals no longer need to install a large number of applications in their computers, instead, you can access a wide range of customized services through a Web browser, that is, "cloud services ". It will bring fundamental changes to the user experience.
Traditional servers are mainly oriented to scientific computing, and improve the server performance by improving the clock frequency of the CPU, the concurrency of instruction sets, and the number of cores. Server products of Intel, AMD, IBM, and other companies are too performance demanding, ignoring the power consumption, volume, cost, and other energy efficiency factors, resulting in low server energy efficiency, at the same time, it causes problems such as large server volume and high power consumption. Cloud computing is dominated by commercial computing. It does not focus on the performance of mathematical operations, but needs to solve the problem of a large number of logical operations and simultaneous requests by multiple users. Therefore, we must adopt a new idea to design the ECS system structure. In this paper, the system structure of the new cloud computing server is analyzed, and a new ICCS-PW cloud computing server is designed and implemented.
2. New cloud computing Server System Structure
The new cloud computing server focuses on the high-performance throughput computing capability and the most important work in a period of time. Therefore, the architecture of new cloud computing servers is very different from that of traditional servers. Traditional servers include processors, storage modules, network modules, power supplies, fans, and other devices.
The new ECS system architecture is divided into cloud processor module, network processing module, storage processing module, and system processing module according to functional modules, they provide hardware virtualization for network modules and storage modules by introducing tightly coupled high-speed Interconnection Networks. Compared with the traditional server architecture, the new cloud computing server greatly improves its utilization. At the same time, it saves a lot of repetitive hardware in the system. Based on the characteristics of cloud computing services, it uses multiple cloud processors to complete the system design, the concept of Low Power Consumption management is introduced to achieve centralized redundancy management of the system.
The new type of ECs integrates computing, storage, exchange, and management into a standard system, which is consistent with the interfaces and general architecture between external network devices and storage devices, the operating system mainly supports Linux to facilitate the transplantation of user application software.
