The in-depth implementation and application of Business intelligence is the inevitable choice of China's banking industry, but only when the development of technology and business needs are truly fused, the real value of business intelligence can be embodied. With the continuous deepening of the financial reform, the commercial banks have implemented different levels of business intelligence (BI) systems with the constant production of data analysis, business analysis and comprehensive analysis.

However, from the overall market, the country can hardly find a real successful implementation of business intelligence cases, some of the projects have been implemented is not very good, basically still stay in the level of the report system. The main reason is that the difficulty of business intelligence projects is not in the technology itself, but in the business.

First, a business intelligence project needs to build a comprehensive business model that embraces all of the bank's existing business categories. Secondly, the accumulation of raw data is seriously inadequate. The more rich and standardized the original data, the higher the accuracy of the business intelligence analysis results. But the history of banking, especially the small and medium-sized commercial banks is relatively short, and the business data is not standard.

Business Driven technology applications

At present, because of the reality of business management, business intelligence needs to be divided into two levels: low-end Enterprise report layer and high-end decision analysis layer. The commercialization of domestic banks is still in its infancy, the business decision analysis is still in the expert mode, so it is difficult for the business department to put forward much demand in the decision-making analysis level.

In the management report level, because the past enterprise management system has been built around the report, the business staff can provide a complete set of business needs based on the report, or even a very complete index system to generate reports.

Some small and medium-sized banks have also implemented a common reporting platform software, on this basis for its redesign and definition, to integrate into the idea of business intelligence, due to the small and medium-sized banks of data sources are not complex and data volume is not very small, can save data warehouse and other supporting software.

Three-tier architecture
